 In 1993, DMK Drilling Fluids Ltd. established a laboratory to provide the oil and gas industry with a service to fulfill analyitcal testing requirements for the EUB Guide 50. In doing so, DMK Drilling Fluids Ltd. became an enviromental leader in the supply of drilling fluid products. The laboratory has since expanded to provide a wide range of analytical services including environmental soil analyses, water quality analyses, drilling and hazardous waste assessments, as well as toxicity bioassay services. In 2006, the laboratory came into its own identity under the name Peace Analytical Laboratories (PAL) within the parent company of DMK Drilling Fluids Ltd.

Peace Analytical Laboratories (PAL) offers one of the largest CALA accredited facilities in the Peace Area. The 5000 square foot facility is ideally located just north of Grande Prairie. This allows PAL to accomplish the mission goals through good communication and education between our PAL personnel and our valued clients. The laboratory provides a 24hr on call service to ensure that the client's needs are met in a timely manner. Peace Analytical Laboratories is able to provide faster turnaround times than other laboratory facilities located in Edmonton and Calgary that may encounter shipping delays. Therefore, PAL not only offers high quality services from a fully equipped analytical laboratory, we also offer a friendly atmosphere for full client satisfaction. Another added value feature of PAL is that all staff is trained in how to perform the methods of analysis and given a background of why the analyses are being performed. This is reflected in everything from the regulations governing the oil and gas industry in matters of waste disposal to greater understanding of why the drilling systems are formulated as they are for better hole production. With this background knowledge, the staff is able to make reasonable decisions and better recommendations when asked.
